A woman obsessed with her image ends up drunkenly sleeping with the most awkward guy in the office. Fearing this mistake will harm her reputation, she manipulates him into believing he’s trapped in a time loop, reliving the same day repeatedly—without their intimate encounter. Today again is a comedy, directed by Molly Daniels and will be screening as a short film finalists of the Montreal independent Film Festival at the Cinema du Parc of Montreal.

Molly Daniels is a writer, director, producer, and actor based in Melbourne, regarded as one of Australia’s keenest comedy talents (according to her). With a background in performance and training from iO Theatre in Chicago and the Upright Citizens Brigade in Los Angeles, Molly has established a diverse career across screen, audio, and digital media.

She co-created, produced, wrote, and starred in the Screen Australia-backed web series CELEBRATION NATION, which was nominated for Best Online Series at the 2021 AACTA Awards. She also co-created, produced, wrote, and starred in, as well as directed, PARTY OF THE CENTURY and its Creative Victoria-funded sequel FUNERAL OF THE CENTURY. A new version, ADVENTURIES OF THE CENTURY, is currently being developed with Screen Australia. She directed and produced the romantic comedy series WISPY and directed and co-wrote the comedy-sci-fi series DISPLACED, earning a nomination for Best Director at Sydney WebFest. She has three additional shorts and a digital series scheduled for release in 2026.

As a writer, her credits include working as a staff writer on Netflix’s THE INBESTIGATORS. She is developing an original children’s comedy, LIGHTNING PRIMARY, with Caitlyn Staples and production company Gristmill, supported by the Australian Children’s Television Foundation. She previously received funding from the Stan and VicScreen Comedy Fund to develop an original comedy series and is currently part of VicScreen’s ORIGINATE program, a talent incubator for emerging writers.

Molly also acts, as writing alone doesn’t quite give her the attention she craves, and has starred in series such as YOU'RE SKITTING ME, RONNY CHIENG: INTERNATIONAL STUDENT, TOMORROW WHEN THE WAR BEGAN, and BACK IN VERY SMALL BUSINESS. Her 2024 Melbourne International Comedy Festival show DYLAN MURPHY & MOLLY DANIELS ARE DEAD was nominated for the festival’s Best Newcomer Award. She is also a writer and presenter on the award-winning ABC children’s podcast, SHORT & CURLY, and worked as a drama coach on popular ABC children’s programs LITTLE LUNCH and SPOOKY FILES.
