Almost 20 years after the destruction of Earth's ecosystem by the climate crisis of 2057, the last few pockets of humanity remain fighting extreme hunger. However, a group of miners have developed a device that allows them to extract nutrients from a white rock discovered on their site. Thanks to their discovery, this particular group has been able to live peacefully... until now.
The White Rock is directed by Maxime Laurin. He has been directing and editing films in Canada since 2020. His first two micro short films SKATEBLOOD and DEEP ENCOUNTERS received high praise in the 2021 and 2022 film circuit. THE WHITE ROCK is Maxime's first sci-fi short film. The project is a nominee of the Summer/2022 Montreal Independent Film Festival.
