In the animated short film "Henrietta Finds a Nest," a young chick named Henrietta embarks on a touching journey from being neglected at a factory farm to forming a friendship with a little girl. Filled with tender moments, gentle humor, and a timeless message about connection, this seven-minute story encourages audiences of all ages to embrace the magic of friendship and the power of compassion. "Henrietta Finds a Nest" is a short animation that has been selected as a finalist at the Montreal Independent Film Festival. It will be shown at Cinema du Parc in Montreal on May 25th, from 5 to 7 PM, along with other short films and a feature finalist of the festival.

Hannah McNally, the director of "Henrietta Finds a Nest," is an Emmy-nominated director who uses animation to highlight complex topics. She has a particular fondness for hand-drawn animation, as it allows for a careful translation of ideas directly from hand to screen, giving each story a personal and unique touch. Hannah aims to create sensitive and authentic work that emotionally engages audiences with the narrative. Her portfolio includes acclaimed documentaries such as "Miss Americana," "The Principles of Pleasure," and "Watch the Sound with Mark Ronson."

In addition to directing animated films, Hannah collaborates with changemakers like the ACLU, Girl Rising, and the National Autistic Society, using animation as a powerful tool to amplify often unheard voices and promote important causes.
Recent accolades include a nomination for Outstanding Visual Design at the Cinema Eye Honors Awards for her work on "The Mission" (2023) and an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Graphic Design & Art Direction for "The Principles of Pleasure." Her work has been showcased globally at festivals such as Sundance, Telluride, Annecy, Kaboom, International Animated Film, and Hollywood Arab Film.
