Deserter is a short narrative film about a Norwegian soldier who leaves the war behind to confront the tortured recesses of his soul. The project is directed by Anthony von Seck.

Canadian filmmaker, actor, and musician Anthony von Seck has been a prominent figure in the Canadian film industry for thirty years. He began his career in the early nineties with music videos, earning accolades at MuchMusic and various festivals for his independent and distinctive style. As a professional cinematographer, von Seck has worked on music documentaries and feature films globally, capturing high-profile artists like Drake and Ziggy Marley. He received a Canadian Juno Award for his feature music documentary "LOOK AT WHAT THE LIGHT DID NOW," featuring Canadian artist Feist. Von Seck has produced three independent short films, "LIMBO" (2020) and "THE 100TH VICTIM" (2018), showcasing his unique dirt noir thriller style. Both films have been represented by Aug&Ohr Agency in Germany and have been screened at over 100 international festivals, winning awards for Best Short, Best Screenplay, Audience Awards, and Best Actor and Supporting Actor.

His latest short film, "DESERTER" (2023), is a World War Two psychological drama inspired by Edgar Allan Poe's themes of the macabre and madness. Most recently, he completed work as Cinematographer and Lead Editor on the Apple+ TV series "LONG WAY UP," featuring Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman, and was nominated for an Emmy for Best Multi-camera Editing. He also worked on the feature documentary "STILL MAX" (Hot Docs Audience Award 2021), directed by Katherine Knight, which explores the life and art of Canadian artist Max Dean.
