Oh To Love Without Possession

Oh To Love Without Possession is a short surreal animation film about a young woman in a subtly possessive relationship. The narrative follows her as her partner takes away her boobs, shrinks her, gently places her in a jar, and abandons her. All while verbally reassuring her of his love for her. This film serves as both an independent narrative, and as a visual metaphor for the feelings of possession commonly felt by women in relationships, as well as depicting the often subtle and complex nature of this feeling. Lauren Falvo is the director of this short animation.

Lauren Falvo is a Canadian film animator based in Montreal Quebec currently completing her BFA in Film Animation at Concordia University. Her past works all consist of a whimsical and surreal style of 2D digital animation highlighted in her debut award-winning short film “an unexpected film”.
