The Newmarket film festival kicked off its annual event today with the opening of a feature documentary called 'About Adultery', by Bara Jichova Tyson.
The film premiered on LA Independent Film Channel which is screening the feature films of Newmarket Film Festival in North of Toronto. Later in the day, Newmarket Film Festival screened a Canadian film called 'Fade' at the Toronto Short Film Channel. Toronto Short Film Channel is screening the short films of Newmarket Film Festival on their online platform.
Newmarket is a beautiful and historic town in North of Toronto where many stars such as Jim Carey were born. The Newmarket film festival has an annual event with a weekly program of international and Canadian features and shorts of all genres.
The festival is sponsored by Toronto Short Film Channel in association with the Toronto Film Magazine.
The annual festival has turned into an online event because of the Covid-19 pandemic. However, the NIFF committee has turned the event into a creative festival which screens films through LA Independent Film Channel and Toronto Short Film Channel. The festival has provided all the official selections with the option to screen their films in a secured non downloadable online public event.
The jury of Newmarket Film Festival consists of filmmakers, film critics and film scholars from Toronto who will be announcing the annual winners on July 26th.
