Monarque tells the story of Charlie, a 10-year-old boy who lives with his family in the countryside in the 1980s. A tragic accident leads to the death of his older brother. The film tells with his child's eyes how he experienced all this. Monarque is directed by Laurence Tremblay. Laurence is a 25 year old director that works at WEOKOK for advertising and short-films. She is a fervent feminist and wants to see more women in the cinema industry. Monarque is her first film.
