Making Money in... Manitou, Manitoba

Seven half-brothers reflect on their mother, pastimes, and eventual insurance fraud in the slow-paced town of Manitou, Manitoba.



Austin Ladouceur is a first-time filmmaker and graduate of the University of Calgary’s Schulich School of Engineering. Austin discovered his love for film in high school when he began writing screenplays during lunch break. Throughout university, he continued to foster his passion for writing while working part-time in a biomechanics lab. After receiving a scholarship for his work on an assistive-living exoskeleton, Austin used the money to produce his first short film, Making Money in… Manitou, Manitoba, which he also wrote and directed. Austin is currently developing his second short film as well as a short documentary project in Calgary, Alberta.
